Microsoft appoints Aparna Gupta Global Delivery Center (GDC) leader - The American Bazaar

US tech giant Microsoft has appointed Aparna Gupta, an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai alumna, as the Global Delivery Center (GDC) leader charged with providing transformational solutions to customers worldwide.

Established in Hyderabad, India in 2005, Global Delivery Center (GDC), is the delivery arm of Industry Solutions Delivery and has since scaled to two more locations- Bangalore and Noida, along with a worldwide presence. Gupta will work closely with the team to continue supporting customers in their digital transformational journey, the release stated.

Her leadership will play a vital role in our continued success in the region and globally.”

Commenting on her appointment, Gupta said, “I am looking forward to working with the teams at GDC to deepen technical expertise across solution areas and build a strong team culture with an aim to deliver excellence to our customers. There is a strong foundation within the team, and I hope to build further on it to take it to the next level.”

Gupta joined Microsoft as the India lead for Commercial Software Engineering (CSE), now ISE (Industry Solutions Engineering) six years ago. Over the years, she has made a positive impact on the business, such as establishing the Customer Success Unit (CSU) as a new segment in the Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) organization at Microsoft, India.

Gupta has driven a strong consumption culture for her teams and business outcomes across the Microsoft Cloud, according to her official profile.

She has also been a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion, serving as the executive sponsor for the Women’s ERG (Employee Resource Group) Charter and building a diverse team.

Prior to GDC, Aparna was the Executive Director for Customer Success for Microsoft India & South Asia, where she was responsible for guiding customers to innovate, expand, and realize real business value from their investments in the Microsoft cloud platform.

She led a strong technical team that helped customers reach their desired outcomes across the end-to-end cloud journey. Gupta moved to Customer Success from her role as General Manager, India for Commercial Software Engineering (CSE) at Microsoft. CSE (now ISE) enables high-impact organizations and developer communities to achieve more and drive the value of Microsoft’s intelligent cloud and edge.

Gupta has more than 25 years of industry expertise and extensive Microsoft experience. Before joining Microsoft, Gupta was the Vice President, Product Development & Managing Director of India at FirstRain Inc.

During her 15+ years at FirstRain, she played a variety of leadership roles over the years spanning software engineering, release & QA, building a Content & Analytics Practice and product management.

Early in her career and before moving into software, Gupta worked at a biotechnology research lab focusing on protein sequencing and developing a vaccine for Malaria.

Gupta is passionate about her volunteering work with different associations and non-profits with a focus on innovation/entrepreneurship and promoting women in technology.

Some related organizations that she has been associated with are NASSCOM/10,000 Start-Ups, Anita Borg Institute and BD (Beyond Diversity) Foundation, Red Dot Foundation and Jombay.

Gupta holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Sciences from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mumbai.
