A manufacturer of electric golf carts and other low-speed vehicles headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina has announced plans to set up shop at the River Ridge Commerce Center in Jeffersonville.
Bintelli plans to invest more than $4 million to establish an assembly and distribution center at the business park and create up to 67 jobs. Golf Cart 2 Seater
The company, founded in 2000 by President Justin Jackrel, makes golf carts, electric bicycles, scooters and mopeds, as well as various parts and accessories. Jackrel said the company has seen “explosive growth” over the last few years.
“We couldn’t be more excited to expand our operations with this new facility at River Ridge Commerce Center,” Jackrel said in a news release. “The proximity to our new logistics partner, Mister ‘P’ Express, played a big part in choosing this location for our new assembly facility.”
Mister “P” Express is a truckload contact carrier headquartered in River Ridge. CEO Cindy Collier called Bintelli’s expansion to the business park “a strategic move for the company’s continued growth, while also bringing a tremendous economic impact to our community.”
The new jobs planned for the facility will have an average wage of more than $26 per hour, according to One Southern Indiana, the chamber of commerce and economic development organization for Clark and Floyd counties.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. is offering Bintelli up to $675,000 in conditional tax credits, which the company will not be eligible to claim until Hoosier workers are hired for the new jobs.
Bintelli currently operates what it says is the largest low-speed vehicle assembly plant, located in South Carolina. The company employs more than 100 workers and has a network of more than 250 dealers nationwide.
